The Pump House Restaurant started life as a Victorian pump house dating back to the 1840s, it provided the first tap water to Durham City but was abandoned long before the end of the 19th century after water pollution from local collieries made its work impossible.
Today the Pump House Restaurant has been transformed into an 80 seat restaurant situated in idyllic mature pine woodland with the beautiful River Wear meandering past its door. The Restaurant in based in a stunning Grade II listed building and posited on the outskirts of the history city of Durham, a real hidden treasure.
